Scandalize My Name

There is a wonderful documentary on Starz this month. It's called Scandalize My Name: Blacklist. It's about the effect of the Hollywood Blacklist of the McCarthy Era on Black performers. Even though I knew that marginalized segments of society are much more vulnerable during periods of social upheaval, I had never applied that idea to this particular situation. Being a member of the GLBT community, I've been more interested in the effect of social change on that part of society.

This is a fascinating documentary, and people should watch it if they have the opportunity. During the McCarthy Era, the NAACP was considered a communist organization.
