Watchin' the teevee
Apr. 19th, 2008 04:12 pmWow! Smallville "Descent" has certainly stirred folks up! I liked it. My main thought about the opening scene was, "About damn time." I still love Lex. He still breaks my heart. Yes, he's evil now, but we all knew that was going to happen, didn't we? And I've expected for a few years now that what happened in the opening scene was going to be his final step toward criminal mastermindness. I thought the whole episode was pretty well done. There was pathos, suspense, a little humor, some great moments with Clark and Lex. The final scene was beautiful.
Battlestar Galactica continues to blow my mind. Here's my reaction: "Holy...Whoa! Oh my god! I can't believe they...huuuu...bgbghbgbg...PLEH!" And that's pretty much verbatim what I said to my dad after the show was over. Yowza! Looking forward to next Friday!
I'm enjoying The Sarah Jane Adventures. This spinoff seems to be geared toward a younger audience than Torchwood. The eps are only a half hour? I guess that's because they leave out all the random snogging and shagging.
Doctor Who is back! For me anyway--I guess some of you have already seen season 4. The fourth season has just started on the Scifi channel, so FINALLY an episode that I haven't seen multiple times. I thought it was good, very enjoyable, but I expect the rest of the season to be better. You know, most series go out of their way to make the season premieres really fantastic and then have some iffy episodes after that. Doctor Who seems to do just the opposite. I was kind of meh about The Runaway Bride last season, but the rest of the season was great. And of course, the three part finale with the Master was waaaay cool! So I'm hoping for that this season as well.
