movies, movies, movies
Nov. 21st, 2005 06:09 pmI may get to see Brokeback Mountain before February after all! I went to see Walk the Line yesterday, and there was a trailer for Brokeback Mountain. I was really surprised! I don't know what they were thinking. Maybe something like, "Okay, this is a country movie, and that is a western movie, and country and western? Like chocolate and peanut butter."
I don't know, maybe the audience for a biopic of Johnny Cash is the same as the audience for a movie about a couple of cowboys who fall in love. Maybe. After all, I was in the audience.
Walk the Line was excellent, btw. Joaquin Phoenix really was as amazing as everyone has been saying. My mom said it was like Johnny Cash had come back to life. And Reese Witherspoon had that sort of twangy, growly, country singer voice down. It was a great movie, an intense emotional experience, and very romantic as well. And I now have tremendous admiration for the woman that June Carter was.
