What the hell just happened on Invasion? Did that guy just cut off his own arm with a chainsaw because it was a trade-in for his real arm that he had gotten from the aliens in the swamp?

Is it just me, or do Locke and Echo need to have a big gay romance? Just me? That's okay, because I'm kind of squicking myself even.
