I had forgotten how very Wincesty this episode was LOL! At least from Dean's POV. Of course, when it first aired I don't think I was aware of the Wincest idea.

But seriously, a siren who manifests itself as your ideal mate--for Sam it's the brainy and beautiful doctor. For Dean, it's a new, improved little brother!

I am amused.

Another blatantly Wincesty moment that went over my head the first time around was at the end of episode with the djinn. After Dean comes out of the fantasy world and he's telling Sam about it, he says something like, "So I had this great life, but you and I never...." And Sam looks at him soulfully and says, "I'm glad we did." Never what?? Did what??

Amused :D

Hey! The brainy, beautiful doctor was just a person, not a siren! I liked her and she wasn't evil. That's quite a change for a female character on SPN.

9/11

I still vividly remember the morning of 9/11/2001. I was on my way to work when I heard about it. The DJs were talking about it on the radio. At that time, they were calling it an accident, and the second attack hadn't happened yet. When I got to work it was on all the televisions (I worked for a cable company, so we had TVs all over the place). Every TV on CNN. And every morning for the next several weeks the morning DJs talked about it as new information came in. It just kept getting worse.

Then some nice things started growing from the tragedy. My morning comedic DJs formed their 9/11 Fund, raising money for scholarships for the children of first responders.

Changed the world.

Still getting caught up on the SPN reruns. I just finished the "Monster Movie" episode. I had completely forgotten about this episode. It was fun and a bit silly. A nice break from the angst of the Sam/Ruby and Dean/Castiel dichotomy.

Also, and this is out of order, random thoughts on "The French Mistake." I saw that episode a few weeks ago, and I suppose it will come around again soon.

The first time I saw that episode, I thought the title just referred to that scene in "Blazing Saddles" when the big fight scene from Blazing Saddles burst through into the "real world" where Dom DeLuise was choreographing an extremely gay dance routine to a song called "The French Mistake." This made sense to me because Sam and Dean came crashing through the window into the "real world" where people are shooting a show called "Supernatural." I didn't realize that the show was also poking fun at Jared/Jensen 'shipping. According to the Urban Dictionary, a "French Mistake" is when two straight guys get drunk and accidentally have sex and then it's all awkward the next day. (This is supposed to be what the Dom DeLuise dance number is about, as it turns out.) So when various characters (including Sam), keep saying of Sam and Dean, "Hey, at least they're talking to each other again," they're most likely alluding to a French Mistake between the two boys.

I really enjoyed that episode the first time I saw it--I like the silly, meta episodes that a lot of fans really hate--but now I enjoy it even more.

My internet is messed up. Not the connection, just the browser. My mom is having a problem with IE, which I don't use, but I told her I'd see if it was doing the same thing on my computer. So I open IE and it orders me to do an update. The update apparently fucked up my Mozilla Firefox, which I do use all the time. The IE update was supposed to prevent home page hijacking, but it seems to have enabled it instead (on Firefox). I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox and that didn't fix the problem, so I did a system restore and then reinstalled Firefox again. That seems to have fixed the problem, but now I don't have any of my add-ons or toolbars anymore. So I'm just annoyed. Internet Explorer is dead to me.

I'm going to do a virus scan now. Wish me luck!

I'm still watching the reruns of SPN on TNT--I'm a little behind on viewing, so I'm just now seeing "All Hell Breaks Loose Part 1"

Saw "Hollywood Babylon" a couple of days ago--the woman who played Tara Benchley is one of my favorite women guest stars on the show. Amy, the one with the visions like Sam's, was another of my faves. I was sad that she turned to the dark side. She was cute and fun.

The Koch brothers own one of my state's U.S. Reps (Tom Cotton) and they are funding ads here attacking the U.S. Senator he'll be running against next year. I would like for them the get the fuck out of my state.

My favorite thing about Diana Nyad, who swam from Cuba to the U.S.? Her last name.

I'm watching the SPN reruns on TNT, and all of a sudden the episode description is in a language I don't even recognize. Very weird.

"Night Shifter" (2007) Eski bir handa, ilk bakista kaza gibi gorunen olumlerin de yasandigi bir takim esrarengiz olaylar vuku bulmaktadir ancak yapilan arastirmalar sonucunda bu hanin gecmisiyle ilgili karanlik sirlar aciga cikar

Just thought I'd preserve this for posterity.

I hope it's not one of those things like where Willow scanned that spell book into the computer and many supernatural hijinks ensued.

It's nice to see more posting on my flist! People seem to be doing a post every day in September thing. I don't know if I'll do that, but I'm posting now. I have a feeling that if I do every day, a lot of them will sound a bit like Andy Rooney's commentaries, only not as entertaining.

He once did a whole thing about the difference between whole milk, 2% milk and skim milk. His conclusion was that he preferred half & half. Me too. Half & half is awesome, and it lasts a long time in the fridge.

This video is riveting. It's a little over 25 minutes long, but it's worth watching. It starts with a view of what looks like a canal that has lost all its water. Around 3 minutes in, the water slowly starts flowing in. Then the boats in the canal start crashing into each other. People start running for higher ground. The water overflows the canal banks. Then what looks like an entire town comes floating by. Then the fires start. It's an amazing video. Warning: I got a little motion sick, so if you're prone to that, watch it a bit at a time.

Still watching the syndicated SPNs on TNT. I had forgotten about Paris Hilton beating the crap out of the boys. I enjoyed the surprise of it :) I don't know much about her, but she did a good job on the show.
