capnzebbieIt's frustrating to watch the controversy over same sex marriage in the news. It seems to me that it's an idea whose time has come, and I don't understand why so many people are so resistant to the idea. I'm proud of Multnomah County, Oregon, which, according to Planet Out news, is the only county in the United States where same-sex couples can legally marry right now. Planet Out writes that the county commissioners decided Monday to ignore the opinion of the state attorney general, who declared the practice illegal.
Do these people who are resisting the idea not see the flow of history?
New ideas in our nation usually begin on the coasts and move toward the middle. It's the same with this one, with marriages and civil unions in California, Washington, Oregon, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts--along both coasts. It *will* happen! It's inevitable. Why don't they see it?
