I am so very old--and Arkansan

I'm watching Dennis DeYoung on our local PBS station. He was the lead singer and songwriter for Styx, the absolute hottest band evah when I was in high school.

He has white hair now. He looks kind of like an infomercial guy.

He performed at Toadsuck Daze, which is a local summer fest.

He's doing the AETN fund raiser, and later on he's doing a fund raiser with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra (who are pretty good, btw) for the Junior League's Holiday House. If you pledge $250 you get tickets in the first ten rows and you also get to go see him in--and I'm quoting here--"the greetin' room." that really makes me giggle.

On the upside, he still sounds fucking great. The man has an amazing voice.

Also, he was talking about writing the song "Lady" for his wife and I got a little twinge of nostalgic horniness. good times

Lady. Babe. Lorelei. Mr. Roboto. Fooling Yourself. Come Sail Away. The Grand Illusion. The music of my adolescence.

I may talk about Smallville later. Right now, I'm going to sit here and feel old. And nostalgically horny. *g*

ETA Dennis just said, "Winners are losers who get up and try again." He is an infomercial guy!

LOL! Yes they do! You should try and catch this concert if you can--they'll probably replay it. It was weird hearing all these songs that I hadn't thought about in years and still being able to sing along with them. I saw Styx in concert for the Grand Illusion tour. Wow, that was a long time ago!
