Does anyone know what to do about a computer that shuts down in the middle of a program, goes to a blue screen and gives the following error messages:

BAD_POOL_CALLER

IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

My computer has been doing this ever since I got it last year. It used to do it when I used my Pinnacle Studio program, but I somehow managed to fix that. It still does it when I use Windows Movie Maker, and now when I try to use this new dvd capture program called AVS Video Tools.

I downloaded Registry Fix and used it, but it didn't help at all. Maybe it helped something, but it didn't help with this particular problem.

Any computer savvy people out there with suggestions? Help! This is making me crazy!

Oooh,I hope it's not the blue screen of death that I had last year. I lost everything. I found this forum for you. Maybe it will help:

I remember that! That was terrible! I've just copied all my vidding stuff and a few other things to my E drive just in case--that's all I would really miss if my hard drive self-destructed.

Thanks for the link--I'll check it out.
