I'm making my way through my flist and I keep trying to comment and just not quite making it most of the time. I'll type a few words or maybe a sentence, and then I can't really finish the thought.

So I decided to just pop over to my own journal and say hello friends!

1. My sister's CA125 has gone from 1500 to 300, which is a very good thing. It's supposed to be below 30, so it's heading in the right direction. But at least this chemo seems to be working pretty well and without too many side effects.

2. I've applied for two different positions at my company. One of them is customer service supervisor, which is just more of what I'm doing now for more money. The other is marketing sales analyst.

If anyone at any time in my life up to now had told me that I would one day be applying for the position of marketing sales analyst, I would not have been able to see the path from there to here. I was very surprised to discover that I'm qualified for the position. I think both jobs are about the same in terms of status and money, so either would be an improvement over what I'm doing now. And if I don't get either one, well, I love my job, and I'll just continue doing it until another opportunity comes along.

3. One of my co-workers wants to kind of give me a make over so I'll look the part for my potential new job. I really don't want a make over. It's freaking me out a little.

4. In the last few months my company has lost the general manager (went to work in another division), the business operations manager (went to work in another division) and the customer service manager (it was very unpleasant). And two people died unexpectedly--one in a car wreck, and one from a very fast-moving cancer combined with pneumonia. She went into the hospital for the pneumonia, found out about the cancer, and was gone just a few days later. I've been feeling pretty stunned. We have less than two hundred employees, so losing that many in such a short period of time has left us all floundering and flailing and--just stunned. These changes are what led to #2 above. I feel a little like a job vulture. I'm trying to get over it.

5. My cousin with her seven dogs has just temporarily moved in with us and our five cats. The first night she was here, I was in my bathroom brushing my teeth and I noticed this raggedy toothbrush on the counter. I thought, huh, someone has found one of my cleaning toothbrushes and left it on the counter. Yuck! So I threw it away. So, yeah, my cousin knocks on the door a little later and says, "Excuse me, is my toothbrush in there?"

Fortunately, we are prepared for a nuclear apocalypse, with bottles of water and non-perishables and many propane-powered things (we live out in the country), so of course we have a stock of brand new toothbrushes still in their packaging. My cousin now has a much nicer toothbrush than the one I threw away. :)

Well, hey, I guess I was able to finish a thought after all!

hey there! haven't read from you in a while!!!!!

Good to hear your sister's chemo is working. My father will probably be starting chemo soon.

Getting a make-over is scary. I'd only do one myself and then it would be on my own terms ^^

I feel a little like a job vulture. I'm trying to get over it.

You're not guilty, unless you killed any of those people ;P

*hugs*

Good news concerning your sister!
And go for it at your job--change is good. Also, why worry about the makeover? That stuff is fun--unless the person wanting to do your make-over looks like a drag queen....than, maybe not so much.

thank you for making me laugh and EWWWW!

*happysigh* I'm so happy to see you!

unless the person wanting to do your make-over looks like a drag queen

My co-worker had the gastric bypass and she's lost a LOT of weight, so she's getting rid of her fat clothes.

Think Big Beautiful Woman who dresses accordingly. As she said when I pointed this out, "Yeah, I'm kinda flashy!"

So, a little bit drag queen *g*

I managed to escape most of the glittery stuff. She finally just sighed and said, "Well, I guress you're going to just keep dressing plain." And I thought "work appropriate."

I'm happy to see you too! *hugs*
