thanks for the link, dk. That could be right. I still think the Amazon Rank link is a good idea, because I think it brought this issue very forcefully in the arena of public discussion and helped to make Amazon.com aware of what an important issue this is. Whether it means they're correcting their own new policy, or they are correcting a "glitch" that can be abused, they are taking pretty quick action on it, which is a great thing. I would hate to have to disavow my long-standing love for amazon!

I know!!!

They're saying it was the French programmer, or programmer in France. Well, databases can be tricky. Wonder if that's the whole story.
