Wow -- that was utterly fabulous. Such a great selection of clips from the show (and awfully convenient of SV to offer us "Onyx," which you've used to brilliant effect here), and you've done a fantastic job pairing those clips (and Ben Kingsley!) with Lanning's dialogue. The "Identical" series was what made me fall head over heels in love with SV fandom and what it could do, and this was like the best of both worlds: the brilliance of Lanning's narrative, and the compelling images from the show itself. Perfect!

Thanks, boppy! I'm glad you liked it--especially that you mentioned the music, because I worked hard on that. I edited the music down from about twenty minutes to about three, and it came from three different movements in Kojiki. It was my first really complicated music editing, so I'm glad it was effective. :)

You've always been great at timing in your vids, and you do it again in this one. And I gotta say I'm proud of myself, too, for figuring out why your last vid was choppy. *cough* I was playing it in quicktime instead of Windows Media Player. *headdesk*

Thank you, dog! :) I'm glad you liked it! I was so happy to find my Eli. I was all over IMDB and Netflix trying to find him, and then I found a movie where he plays a Mossad agent, which was perfect!

Re watching the show, it's NOTHING like the vid, sadly. All the Clex is angry, bitter post-divorce Clex. I still enjoy it, but sometimes it makes me sad. I watch it more to find vidding material these days. I still love Lex, though, even when he's evil. *g*

Oh, and I'm glad that mystery is solved about the quicktime!

*GGG* Thanks! I was trying to do a sort of seque from where Clark and Lex are flying in the starry sky to where they're looking at the fake constellations Lex put on his ceiling for Clark's birthday, but I'm not sure how well I communicated that. But it looks pretty! :)

I used some cropping and scaling and did a couple of overlays there. I actually asked for an effects pack for Christmas just to get one effect that I used for that scene. Obsessed, I tell you!

Just rewatched Gethsemane in Windows Media Player. Duh, what a difference. It was good even in Quicktime, but now it is breathtaking. What an amazing vid. Gosh. You know what I like? I like how uncompromising you are with Clark. There's no romance or sentimentality. You tell it like it is and really get inside his head. Plus, from a technical perspective, the vid is flawless.

Gethsemane is really my favorite of the vids I've made, although it embarrasses me a little to compliment my own vid. Watching it still has emotional impact on me, even though I've seen it in its bits and pieces and watched it so many times. Thank you so much for rewatching it and commenting. :) *hugs again*

I was back here to look for your vid "white wedding" to dl and rewatch it, and thought, I made a tiny suggestion: have you thought about making this entry a sticky post at your LJ ?
like, futuredating it with something like 2010 or so, then I would stay at the top of your LJ , and whoever enters to your LJ, will see it as the first thing :)
like an index with all your fics, for easy find!

yo~ army_rat and I were just watching this, and he swore that one of the preseason ads for SV is almost identical *snerk* to the first half of your vid. He was actually quite shocked at the similarity. I haven't seen it, maybe it's that the the images are so iconic that he's just got that sense of de ja vu but the clincher was the subtitle texts, they were too similar to be coincidence. I'm more of a mind that it's all deeply part of the Clark/Lex mythos, but I dunno. Have you seen anything like that? did you get a sense of hey, that's my vid?

Ha! Do you think they stole my stuff after I stole their stuff? *g* I haven't seen the promo, but I'll keep an eye out for it. They may have it on YouTube or on the CW website.

You know, if they want to, they can use the 'sex scene' from My Secret Love sometime. ;)

Not too long after I made that opening sequence (this was a while ago), I saw two movie trailers that used the same fade technique with the heartbeat--the trailers for Spiderman III and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer--and that made me laugh too. I thought, hey! I did that first!
